ROBERT CHAFIN is recognized as one of the most original and versatile artists today. World renowned for his Mozart and Rossini interpretations, Chafin is expanding into the more demanding roles of Strauss and Wagner . He continues to explore new repetoire, most recently in his internationally acclaimed Franz Schreker interpretations of FLAMMEN and CHRISTOPHORUS. Currently he is singing in France and Spain in the leading roles of LES TROYENS and LES CONTES d'HOFFMANN. Dramatically, CHAFIN has worked with cutting edge opera directors such as Guy Joosten, Sebastian Baumgarten, Kerstin Harms and Stephen Lawless. He has appeared in productions in Vienna, Berlin (Deutsche Oper), Brussels, Hannover, Stokholm, Helsinki, Leipzig, Strasbourg, Dresden, and New York City Opera. Equally at home on the concert stage and in recital, CHAFIN has performed world wide with conductors including Runnicles, Plasson, Luisi, Albrecht, Chaslin, Stenz, and the late Bertini. Venues include Carnegie Hall, Theatre des Champs-Élysées, Amsterdam Concertgebouw and Berliner Philarmonie.
